I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond (New York, NY) in Jan 2015
Interview
Poorly structured interview process. Had two interviews with different human resources individuals. It took about 10 days to obtain feedback from HR. Overall the interviewers have no clue about real interviewing. They are accustomed to intearct with high school graduates, with a real low intellect. The low bar extends across the hiring process, retail operation, retail management, etc.
Bed Bath and Beyond's compensation is very low. Barely above minimum wage.
One positive thing about my experience at BBB was the orientation training, which took two weeks full of real life scenarios and transactions at the cash register.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond (Union, NJ) in Jun 2014
Interview
Pretty much a social call. I believe the more you say the better off you will be. Don't hold back. I left the interview not able to gauge how I did or what was expected of me. They do tell you what their pace is like and what your expected hours will be, that also is very helpful.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were no questions, it was pretty much a presentation of their environment.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond (Salinas, CA) in Aug 2011
Interview
Interview was not very intensive, I dont feel like they have a prepared set of questions. They do actually check your references though and will not hire without them. Actual hiring process after being offered job is long and monotonous. 4+ hours of paperwork, job review and training videos, followed by 20+ more training hours on floor.
