I applied in-store for a holiday sales position with Bath & Body Works, and was contacted the next day about an upcoming group interview that I could attend, and to which I accepted. I showed up for the interview ten minutes early, and was told to browse the store while they looked for the interviewer. Ten minutes after the interview was supposed to take place, myself and 6 other people were brought to the back room.
We were asked several general questions, and then specifics about the position and the company. When we got to that point, the manager stopped giving everyone a chance to answer, and directed random questions at one person only. In effect, some people got easier questions than others. Finally, we were asked to give demos, first by demonstrating how we would give a customer a hand massage and then then how we would demo a new product.
In total, the group interview took two hours.
I was called the following day to be told that I was being considered for the position, and would be notified within three days. When in three days the manager hadn't called back, I called to ask what the status was, and they said I would be notified soon. I called a week later, was told the same thing, and never did hear back.
