I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Baker Tilly (New York, NY) in Nov 2014
Interview
Applied for a first round interview through my campus e-recruiting site. Then got a 2nd interview with them at their office about 2 weeks later. Interview at the office consisted of two people, one with HR and another with the tax manager.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The only one that is difficult would be when they first ask to "tell us about yourself". Other than that, everything else was straight forward.
I applied online. I interviewed at Baker Tilly (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2025
Interview
Overall, the interview process was pretty standard compared to my other experiences. I talked to two partners from different offices, and we got to know each other over some basic questions. i.e Why Tax? Why Baker Tilly? Why this location?

Question 1
Why do you want to go into Tax instead of something else like audit or assurance?
Person didn’t ask any questions, she was very rude and under estimated interviewer experience. Didn’t give the interviewer time to speak and ended the interview shortly after that. Interview was only 3 minutes.
Had a phone cal with the recruiter first and after had the in office interview which entailed interviews with 3 different people that was 30 minutes each. The interviewers were managers and a partner. Also went on a coffee run with staff/senior.
