      I interviewed at Baker McKenzie

      Interview

First interview was basic, with the HR recruiter. 2nd interview was via Skype and consisted of a lot of questions to determine my abilities. For a “diversity and inclusion” position in a company that prides themselves on having programs for caregivers, I found it odd that I was questioned on whether or not I could handle the workload since I have a child. I’ve worked full-time the entire time my child has been alive, and my resume was clear about that. The interview had nothing to do with diversity and inclusion and was entirely about data analysis skills. The other reviews here that mention communication issues are correct. I reached out to the recruiter after my second interview and it took a while to get a response. I was told she received positive feedback about my interview. Then never heard back again. A few MONTHS later, I was contacted by a different recruiter about the same job and was told it had been put on hold but they were moving forward again and would schedule my third interview. Then more silence. I reached out and was told they were working on scheduling it. More silence. Reached out again, told the same thing. More silence. This went on for about 4-6 weeks. I finally reached out one more time and was told they’d selected someone else but would be posting more positions and would see if one was a better fit for me. No thanks. Their recruiters are HORRIBLE at getting back to prospective employees and I’m glad I had another job lined up and didn’t put that on hold while waiting around for Baker McKenzie. It’s just basic professional courtesy to close the loop with people who have had an interview for a position and the weeks upon weeks of “following up now” responses were beyond frustrating.
