I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at BHP (Adelaida) in Apr 2018
Interview
The telephone interview is quite ridiculous. Someone who speaks little English calls from the overseas and asks a myriad of questions.
Phone cut out about 9 times, something out of both of our control I suppose, it was both embarrassing and annoying. Thought it would be a bit more personal... but the interviewer just types the answers up awkwardly and probably sends it off to someone else to review. Not sure how this is a good method of recruitment?
Interview process is relatively simply, though.
After completing online testing and phone interview, moved onto the engagement centre where a large group of diverse students were interviewed. The group included students from many majors such as law/engineering/occupation therapy etc etc. It was a 2.5 hour session involving a group session and a 'speed dating' interview session where applicant interviewed with 5 bhp employees from all facets of the business. Overall, a great experience. HR staff and interviewers made applicants feel very comfortable. Nothing to be worried about. Great experience.

Question 1
Where have you noticed an issue with safety on a project and how did you overcome it?
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BHP (Austin, TX) in Oct 2014
Interview
Submitted the resume online through my university's career system. Was called for an interview within a week, was told about a pre-interview dinner that was being held soon. Attended the pre-interview dinner where I got to meet current engineers working on various projects. Finally, had the interview the next day.
