They were having a "job fair" for an open position for rental sales agent. Their website said candidates MUST apply online before they show up for the interview. So, I filled out the long application online, and was frustrated to see that once I got there, every one had to do the exact same application again with a pen. So, that took the first hour I was there. Eventually, I interviewed with one man--very basic stuff like "why this company / business?" After about 15 minutes with him, he said he'd like me to interview with someone else, so I went back to the waiting room.
After a while, another man came to interview me, and he was a little more intense. He seemed to question my recent employments (after changing careers). None of his questions were that off the wall, but he just had an intense feel about him.
Then I went to see a 3rd guy, who gave me this assignment. He gave me around 5 or 6 pens of different sorts, and the exercise is that I'm a pen shop owner and he's going to come in and be a customer, and I am going to sell him a pen. The point being to see how I am with customers and selling.
Was not ready for that one, but they do give you 5 or so minutes to game plan, so it wasn't bad. But it would've been nice to know about beforehand.
