Professional and well thought through. Well supported by the recruiter team throughout. The process was clear and not too many rounds of interview. No ‘challenge’ or presentation required. Met with the recruiter, then the hiring manager, and finally with a senior leader for the UK.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Talk about a challenge you faced in your role and how did you overcome it?
I applied online. I interviewed at AstraZeneca (Macclesfield, England) in May 2024
Interview
Values interview against company goals. Even for internal roles which doesn’t make sense. Why make someone do a values interview after 20 years of service?! Completely unacceptable why do this to a loyal employee.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AstraZeneca (Cairns) in Jul 2024
Interview
Got a phone call from HR for phone screening.
I gave my reasons why I applied and just was very excited about the opportunity in all honesty however I got told by that HR person and I’ll quote the exact words “ I’m not convinced you have the passion for the pharmaceutical sales and truly understand the reason for your passion. I’ll give you some homework to do as well as research on your passion for the field and I’ll get back to you next week with an answer if you’ll progress to the first stage of the interview with the Hiring Manager or not”
I never got a call and I never did any “homework” as the phone call itself was extremely disrespectful and aggressive 🤏
This is the first time in my sales career where a middle person like HR was the one determining my “passion” for the role and just my suitability in general and I was taken aback for sure by that.
