I interviewed at Arm (Cambridge, East of England, England) in Jan 2026
Interview
I had a bad interview experience. The recruiter was 5 minutes to the 15 minute meeting, had his video off, and insisted me to provide a salary range. He evaded telling about the company's salary range. And when I gave my range, he said it was within their range. But after the interview, he completely ghosted my emails and 3 weeks later, I get a standard email saying "the role is already filled". I was honestly expecting better of Arm's recruitement practices considering it is such a renowned company.
The interview was quite intensive, and I struggled to get any personal connection or sense of the company culture. The focus was almost entirely on assessing my technical competencies, with very little interest in how I collaborate, communicate, or function within a team. Overall, it felt more like an evaluation than a conversation.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe how the memory in a computer works. How many registers are there in general in computer. I also got a code snippet and was asked to explain how an optimizing compiler would optimize the code
Only technical questions, no resume review or behaviorals. Awkward interviewers who turn their camera off. I think its required but I dont like it. Overall interview is decent though, not too difficult not too easy either. They wanted me to draw and I was on my laptop and it caught me off guard.
