Summary : Rejection in interviews is very common as each organization has their standards and its okay not to select certain candidates but after investing so much time(3 weeks in my case) candidates expect feedback so that it can help in future endeavor.
Details :
There were 5 rounds of interview. In new normal interviews are scheduled online, all on different day which is quite difficult to manage.
First four rounds were as expected (difficult but friendly) 2 rounds from Indian team member then next 2 from USA senior members which were scheduled each on a different day.
HR called after 4 rounds and scheduled for a casual discussion as fifth round with senior manager.
Interviewer came with a difficult attitude seemed like he was pretty convinced to reject me(although previous 4 rounds were pretty good) and had a discussion for around 1 hour.
HR called me to inform that he has not got the feedback yet and asked me to contact latter. After 1 week I called again and got the same answer that he is still waiting on the feedback.
Advise : It is okay to reject but at least have a courtesy to inform rather than leaving for the cliffhanger.
