      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Interview

First had a phone screen and was told the next step would be a technical interview to test my understanding of the mobile app world. I was set up for an interview with "Chad" (name changed to protect the guilty), another CSM who asked me nothing technical but instead asked "Are you sure you really want this job?" Chad was standoffish and didn't seem to even want to interview me. I checked in two weeks later to ask when the technical interview would take place and the recruiter apologized and soon scheduled an interview with another CSM. The other CSM praised me for getting all the technical questions right and even getting the trick question. I then progressed to the onsite round, where once again I was to interview with Chad. Chad was even more of a biased, privileged tech bro this time. He showed his true colors when he asked me "As an older person, are you sure you are going to be OK with working with younger people who won't understand your cultural references?" I reminded Chad that diversity makes a team stronger - but was floored that he would ask me such an illegal question. The other CSM who interviewed me said he would hire me in a minute if the decision was his. To make a long story short, I was told there was going to be another round, which they later reneged on and blamed it on COVID. Two months later they were hiring again, but they would not consider my candidacy. If you aren't a straight white bro under 35, you may not want to consider applying or working here.

      Question 1

As an older person, are you sure you are going to be OK working with younger people who may not understand your cultural references? For real - they asked me this.

In order for us to improve and grow as a company it is essential and encouraged that people are as transparent with us as we are with them, so thank you for your feedback and candor. COVID-19 has forced us and a lot of companies to adapt and make changes quickly, and we're sorry that in this case, led to a less than ideal experience for you. We are a company with 19 offices around the world and with that just as many (if not more) cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds. As a people-obsessed company, seeing people in their entirety is in our DNA. Inclusivity and visibility for all backgrounds is our top priority and we will continue to work within the company and our communities to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.

      Interview

It was quick between recruiter, CSM team lead, to director of CSM. i went 3 out of 4 steps. it was 1-2 days between next round. I didn't get it because they are looking for candidate who has direct exposure of SDK

      Interview

I don't think it's difficult, but the manager is quite specific and asking for a quite technical person. As someone who has no experience in MMP, the expectation is not aligned.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. What do you know about MMP, SDK, API and how it works? 2. What would you do for your first 30 days here?

      Interview

Phone interview with an HR - team manager interview, and I believe another set of interview after that. I couldn’t say much more because I was GHOSTED by the HR who did my initial interview. If I wasn’t a good fit, I get it. At least let me know? This was extremely unprofessional and honestly, lost faith in AppsFlyer as a company. If this is how they treat “possible” future employees, how are actual employees treated?
