I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Applied Materials (Santa Clara, CA) in Mar 2009
Interview
As a Ph.D. student I applied to Applied Materials through a job fair and could not get an on campus interview for a couple of reasons due to the Universities policy. I did not think about them until 6 months later when I got a call from a recruiter to have a phone interview. I passed the phone interview and was asked to come to California for an interview event. There were about 60 candidates at the interview event ranging from bachelor to Ph.D. The first day they told us about the company and gave us a tour. The second day were interviews. I had 6 interviews that day and others had anywhere between 1 and 6. The next day they called and offered me a job.
