The overall experience by the manager is great! Since it was my first interview, the manager kindly taught me what I should or should not do and how to improve myself.
I applied online. I interviewed at Applied Materials (Santa Clara, CA) in Apr 2020
Interview
An easy phone interview to make sure if you understand the etch process. Besides, they will ask some questions about their job and company. The more you answer, the more they ask. It seems that they wanna ask until you say "I dont know"
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What's your experience with the etching process?
Do you have any experience in the cleanroom?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Applied Materials (Bengaluru) in Sep 2021
Interview
Was contacted by the HR.
A 15 mins interview was scheduled for the following day. The requirement was for a legacy project.
The interviewer right away asked me turn my camera on without having the courtesy of doing the same himself.
He asked me to rate myself on C#, desktop apps, SQL and DSA.
With a tone of arrogance he asked me to share my screen and gave a small coding snippet. Since I was able to answer them all, he asked me some unheard off OOPS concept.
At the end when asked, he told me he is a senior manager with 15+ of experience and has earlier worked at Microsoft. His behavior and attitude had me assume a fresher was conducting my interview.
Overall a very negative and distasteful experience.
