I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Applied Materials (Santa Clara, CA) in Apr 2022
Interview
one round of discussion, about my previous background and explaining their projects, there are 3 people in the interview, most of them are phDs, so the questions are focus on the theoretical understanding instead of application. Many of them have physics background.

Question 1
What is ARIMA algorithm,
How to do time series forecasting.
Multiple interviews with different members of the company. All the interviewers were kind and informative and happy to answer any questions. The interviews were similar in difficulty and it seemed that they had a portfolio of questions which they could ask.

Interview
I interviewed for an NCG position at Santa Clara. The first round was talking to a hiring manager from the team with some general questions, including Introducing yourself, Describing your strengths and weaknesses, and Describing your role and position in a team. The second round occurred in 1 week. The hiring manager asks for some slides to introduce your previous remarkable projects (introducing the projects that could boost your overall score). The third round was an on-site interview at Santa Clara. This round was more about behavioral Q&A. I feel like using STAR methods could solve these easily. Overall suggestions: be crystal clear about the project you listed on your resume, review some basic heat transfer, material mechanism, and some CFD stuff (useful when introducing your previous projects).
