Worst interview experience of my life, so much so that I felt it is my responsibility to write a quick review to assist others.
To summarize:
1. Mislead about pay. The MD knew that I was taking a massive cut but tried to cut it even further right at
the end. What was especially rude is she characterized it as "we don't think you're worth that." Only 10
years of data in direct contradiction to your view, but yes, denigrate me during the negotiation process,
good luck to you.
2. Totally disorganized. I believe that small things are often indicative of larger problems and throughout
the interview process I got the distinct impression that this company is disorganized. Evidenced by
missed emails, not responding to questions, not providing any food when I had a pre 5AM wake up to
fly to the interview and didn't leave until around 2PM (they did start giving me some water after 30+
mins when a lady walking past reception asked if I needed some). Basically everything was sub-par
and I got a very "this company doesn't hire/train well and doesn't know how to operate" feeling.
3. For the position, they couldn't provide clear, logical frameworks for the work they were doing, and my
perception was the division was unsystematic and unorganized. They were very stuck in reactionary
mode and felt like they needed grunts because they were incapable of recognizing their problems and
how to fix them.
I left, if you get a similar impression, you should too.
