      IOS Developer Interview

      Jun 12, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Brasilia,
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Andela (Brasilia, ) in Jun 2023

      Interview

My recent interview experience was, unfortunately, extremely unpleasant and frustrating. From the beginning, it was evident that the interviewer was not a good communicator. His speech was incoherent, poorly articulated, and, in many instances, I simply couldn't understand him. While answering his questions, I had the uncomfortable sensation that he wasn't really paying attention to my responses. It seemed like he was just following a predetermined script and lacked genuine interest in getting to know my skills and experiences. Regrettably, I had to repeat my answers several times in the hopes that he would finally grasp what I was trying to convey. This constant repetition left me feeling uneasy and disrupted the natural flow of the interview. Furthermore, the recruiter's lack of clarity and understanding made it even more challenging for me to express myself effectively. I had to make an effort to simplify my answers and adapt my speech to compensate for his lack of comprehension. I believe that a job interview should be an opportunity for both parties to get to know each other and evaluate if there is a good fit between the candidate and the position. However, this experience made it clear to me that the recruiter was not fulfilling his role adequately. A poorly conducted interview, with a recruiter who struggles with speaking and fails to make an effort to understand the candidate, is an extremely demotivating situation. Not only did it undermine my confidence during the selection process, but it also made me question the quality and seriousness of the company in question. I hope that in the future, recruiters will be better trained and attentive to their communication skills, so they can conduct interviews more effectively. An interview should be an exchange of information and an opportunity to highlight the qualities and competencies of candidates, but unfortunately, this experience fell short in that regard.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Consecutive zeros The goal of this challenge is to analyze a binary string consisting of only zeros and ones. Your code should find the biggest number of consecutive zeros in the string. For example, given the string: "1001101000110" The biggest number of consecutive zeros is 3. Define a function named consecutive_zeros that takes a single parameter, which is the string of zeros and ones. Your function should return the number described above.
