Question 1
Signed NDA. Nothing unexpected. Tons of material on the internet. I recommend asking your recruiter as well to help with the prep.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
It is long and thorough interview process which involves quite some interviewers (mins 7). Main part of the interview revolves around Amazon's leadership principles, discussing about what you have done/achieve in your current/past job(s) that demonstrates the leadership principles etc.
Interview process was easy and process oriented. Based on my research, I was under the impression that 75% of the questions will be on Leadership Principles, however first 20 mins turned out to be just ONLY technical (architect's level).
Amazon is not for experienced professionals who are at the mid-manager level. Either you directly apply for most senior level position or as a college graduate. Definitely not for seasoned professionals like me as technical acumen greatly differs for every PM.
1 hour initial phone interview is extremely less time to learn about a candidate's background. Interviewers mindset are psychologically expecting answers based on Amazon's project execution point of view and business objectives.
Technical PMs are not to be judged based on their current project handled, such as legacy application migration. Every project has its own complexity.
