I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Sep 2024
Interview
Interview 1: 30 min talk about me and the job, all good
Coding test: 1 hour, all went well.
Interview 2: 1 hour technical interview about my experience at previous jobs. Everything went well and I was invited for the last interview round.
Preparation talk and scheduling. Very difficult scheduling, recruiters responded very slow. Then I spent 45 min discussing with a recruiter in a phone call how I can prepare for the last day of interviews (4 interviews in 1 day, each of 1 hour). They asked me to have interviews at 7pm etc, I agreed.
Last minute they told me "the job doesn't exist anymore", after being already invited to the next round. This way they wasted 4 hours of my time + the preparation time for these tests and interviews.

Question 1
What do you want in a job? Did you have experience with etc.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Cape Town) in Oct 2024
Interview
All in all had 7 sessions with the Amazon team. The fist Telephonic interview was the easiest, it’s a general interview about yourself and experience. I have over 10ths experience so I felt it to be a summary of my career in an hour, it’s all about first impressions in this one.
The next round was 5 1 hour long interviews with 4 direct team members you’ll be working with and one random interviewer who knows little about the role but is there to focus more on the leadership principles.
Interviews were very casual, was a pleasant xperience… if you know your stuff it should be a breeze, know your leadership principles and how to speak to them with specific stories from your past experiences that demonstrate the principle in question, using the STAR method is merely a guideline to answer the questions it’s not a rule! My style is little more conversational so I used it to formulate the structure of my response but found myself flowing naturally about my experiences. be honest and you should be fine!

Tell me about a time where you failed on a project because of insufficient information.

Interview
Amazon is very serious when they say to memorize the Star interview method. Make sure you memoprize all 30 questions with examples and not repeat the same employer twice with each example when you interview with different people.
