I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Amazon in Jan 2014
Interview
One of the interviewers seemed nice but the other wasn't. I hear sometimes they tag team as good cop/bad cop. We were off to an awkward start when I mentioned the weather on the West Coast and my interviewer said Seattle wasn't on the West Coast.
The rest of the interview was ok. A resume walk-through, how I would improve the product, how I would communicate that to developers. I started to mention that I would prototype but I got the response "Product Managers don't code". Something to note for any future interviews with them.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Amazon (Bengaluru) in Jan 2014
Interview
Got the interview call from Amazon HR. Interview was mostly on the current job, roles and responsibilities and how I handled the products in my current role.
I interviewed at Amazon (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2013
Interview
On-campus interviewing at an MBA program. Two interviews of 30 minutes each (first round), then two interviews of 45 minutes each (second round). Two interviewers were product managers, two were product management directors. Their decision was communicated very rapidly - the very same evening as the second round interviews. Overall the interviewers were personable, empathetic, and easy to talk to. I had a very positive experience.
