The interview process started with an initial phone screen, followed by a virtual "on-site" interview (5 individual interviews, split over two days). Only two interviews focused on technical data science skills.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Jul 2022
Interview
The recruiter reached out saying hiring manager is interested to schedule a phone interview.
The interviewer had a thick indian accent and was highly imbalanced in his approach, he literally said let's jump onto scripting questions thrice and would again start asking ML questions.

Question 1
He seemed like someone who just went through some cool ML/DS terms. Asked about how to fit a logistic regression, PCA, p-value, A/B testing, gradient descent, bias-variance tradeoff etc.
In scripting question, he merely asked how to find mode of a list without using any in-built maths function or library.
I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Washington, DC) in Jun 2022
Interview
video. one hour. The interviewer asked some bizarre questions and expect you to know everything. Nobody can know all the answers to the bizarre questions. This is not the right way to select the most competent candidate.
