Initial phone screen with manager went very well. Scheduled a follow-up Skype interview with an engineer. Questions asked by the interviewer were bordering on java trivia as opposed to questions relevant to the job (as described) or required skills.
The job I interviewed for has been open for months if not years. They seem to have no interest in filling this role.
I really believe this company needs to develop better strategies for evaluating potential employees during an interview. Asking rarely known java trivia questions does nothing for evaluating a candidates ability to "do the job".
