The interview was super easy. You usually go through 2 short interviews. They asked about very basic questions, like where you live, how you commute, and what your availability is. One question they asked was what you think good hospitality is. You know right after if you are hired or not.
I received an interview request from a recruiter via the company's Chime app for an SDE position. Excited, I joined with my camera on, as is the tradition these days. The recruiter didn't turn his on - ok, no big deal.
We discussed the process in detail for some time and he stated that I'd need to complete two HackerRank questions by a deadline nine days in the future, but not to worry! He would equip me with all the details I needed to be successful, including links to sample HackerRank tests and LeetCode samples. I would get all this information today(!) so that I'd have the weekend to prepare since he knew how busy I must be.
Even more excited than before, I waited after the call....and waited....and waited. No response. I contacted the recruiter via LinkedIn and email multiple times but received no response at all.
Apparently Amazon has adopted the despicable recruiter policy of ghosting as well.
I can only assume this was a bad apple, as every single other interaction I've had with Amazon has been amazing.
Tough interview. The first round was a basic tech questions and was pretty easy. Then they had tougher rounds where you had to demonstrate knowledge of coding and there was also a pair programming exercise. Eventually they moved to on-site, which was in Seattle. the on-site consisted of six rounds testing various technical and interpersonal skills. They are looking for a strong programmers who also have a very good handle on architecture, SDLC, and systems design.
