I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Austin, TX) in May 2021
Interview
Phone Interview followed by Final Loop Interview, 4 hours with 6 people. The first interview is casual. They allow you to speak without limitation (so don't ramble), asked 4 questions. The loop is a list of behavioral questions. Have an assortment prepared /memorized. 1-2 minutes, action item bullet points, quantify the hell out of it. I don't think enough people talk about the follow up questions after the STAR formatted story. They grill you - interrogation style - over each story you shared. It easily stops being a behavioral interview and a means of gaining business intelligence. I replied "it's proprietary information". How's that for backbone Amazon? Maybe that's why INTEGRITY isn't one of their Leadership Principles.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Amazon (Madrid) in Jan 2021
Interview
It started with an online assessment which was a simulation of a day at the office, with e-mails coming to a virtual inbox and multiple choice options for the answer. One virtual interview on Teams with Line Manager. It stopped there for me, but it would have followed with a further interview with a group of selected employees at Amazon, external to the department.

Question 1
Case study, simulating working day. You basically received e-mails from colleagues from other departments e.g. choose the product to launch between A and B, A with cost $100, 2 weeks turnaround to restock, selling price $110, units available 1,000. B with cost $93, 6 weeks turnaround to restock, units available 500, sale price $110. Your colleague made a mistake, did not give you the right quantity for the launch and now the launch is delayed, but customers have pre-ordered, what do you do? Your colleague follows with a mistake in the report after you made them notice the mistake, what do you do....
Virtual interview: talk about your experience. 2 questions Amazon style: 1) Tell me about a time when you had to face a difficult situation and how did you manage it 2) Can you describe your most difficult customer and how you were able to handle their needs? 3) Tell me about a time when you were handling a project that went outside of your scope of work. How did you handle it?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in May 2021
Interview
First two phone screens were as expected. Read a bit about the process online but weren’t difficult. The loop was a marathon. First hour must have been the bar raiser who kept challenging the responses I was giving the entire hour. The third hour was filled with outlandish scenario questions that I’m pretty sure the interviewer knew were ridiculous.
