I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2011
Interview
The company held a first round of phone interviews at our MBA program and then invited candidates to their Seattle campus for the second round.
The first round included two half hour phone calls back to back. The second round consisted of 4 back to back one on one interviews, each lasting 45 minutes.
The people were all pretty friendly.
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
If Amazon were to expand in to a new country, what are the 5 factors you would use to evaluate candidate countries?
Following up on the previous question, if you had 3 days to present the above information to Jeff Bezos and had two resources working for you, how would you structure the work and ensure that you would have the requisite information before the deadline?

Interview
Overall the interviewer was very dry. I see myself as very witty and I have heard that Amazon likes people with energy and humor so I played to my strengths. However, the interviewer didn't respond to anything I was saying, just constantly shooting off question after question. His questions weren't presented well, mostly began with a LONG story and ended with a non-related question. I had to ask repeatedly what the exact question was. TIP: Always remember their focus is customer-centric.
