I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Amazon (Hyderabad) in Jan 2025
Interview
The interview process began with an online assessment to screen candidates. The first technical round was focused on DSA (Data Structures and Algorithms), testing problem-solving and coding skills. The second round was a Machine Learning depth and breadth round, primarily focused on deep learning concepts, model evaluation, and statistics. Behavioral questions based on Amazon’s Leadership Principles were also asked. Each round lasted around 45–60 minutes. Overall, it was challenging but structured.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain how you would handle an imbalanced dataset in a classification problem.
There were two back-to-back rounds: one hour of behavioral questions focused on leadership principles, 30 minutes on statistics and machine learning, one SQL histogram question, and one Python question for 30 minutes.
I had 2 rounds of interview. One was behavioural based on leadership principles + coding round based on DSA and the second round was technical focussing on Data science and ML fundamentals.
