I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in May 2023
Interview
I of course studied the Amazon principles, and applied them to my interview after the assessment. This is the second time I have gotten to this stage with Amazon, and found this interview to have the same consistent experience. While giving a STAR responses back using their principles, there seems to be a consistent theme with the interviewers, where they interrupt my response back before I can complete my sentence of STAR response. Not sure it they are looking for the candidate (me) to push back to ensure I can be assertive, but felt this did not accomplish anything other than a rude experience overall. In both of my interview experiences (one on video), I noticed the interviewer was either working on something else not note taking and clearly did not listen to my responses. If this is the culture that exists at Amazon, it was best that I did not move forward, since it seems there is little courtesy for a candidates time, when I spent hours prepping and learning their principles. Not sure if their employees actually apply their principles in their interview process in reality looking back at my two interviews. Since part of the principle "Earn Trust" = listening attentively..
It had 6 rounds- heavily focussed on leadership principles. they really do cross question almost every other example.......... You get multiple interviewers across the organisation. I thought- the questions were repetitive after one point.
