I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Philadelphia, PA) in Aug 2017
Interview
Applied in early July. It took about 3 weeks to receive an email to come to orientation. At orientation you are asked to complete I-9 if you have not already, and to provide identification. Also, we received a brief introduction about what we'll be doing, benefits, and schedule options.
After the intro we did a drug test to test for THC I believe. Then we were sent on our way. I received an email 2 days later that I passed the background and drug test.
Currently waiting for start date options.

No interview at all, you go into the hiring center, take your drug test, fill out some preliminary paperwork, verify the building and schedule you want, your start date and that's it.
Not too bad pretty easy and straightforward, simple question surrounding handling and moving. Make sure you know basic safety rules as they will ask you, for example how do you carry heavy items.
Apply online, go to the on-site office for oral drug swab and ID picture. Start date is assigned once background check comes back. The actual start date will depend on how fast the check comes back but isn't normally delayed.
