I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Salamanca) in May 2016
Interview
The process is simple,an (easy) online math test followed (maybe!!!, most of the times you do the test and your application is kept on hold for ages!!!) by one phone interview with the HR and another phone interview with a senior manager. the unpleasant aspect related to this stage is that when they call you, you must remember those 14 leadership principles even if they call you while you are travelling around on a bus!!!! If you make a good impression, you are admitted to a three interviews stage where you have to show your skills in relationship to situations of your past professional life (thing that can turn being pretty hard if your previous experience is in a field managers do not have a clue about) you must deal with an easy excel based "business case" as well. if you are successful you will have to deal with another three interviews stage with the so called bar risers. i would have expected more from a company that pretends being the most "customer oriented on the planet"

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2015
Interview
Recruiter sent email with a list of supplemental questions to be answered pre-phone screen. Promptly sent reply (within hours of receiving email) with sheet filled out in detail. It took a few weeks before the recruiter followed up to inform me that my answers to the supplemental sheet did not fit their criteria.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY) in Jun 2014
Interview
Three interviews, 1 with HR, 1 with someone on the team and then an in person interview. Everyone was nice and the process, which could be intimating, was easy and not stressful (again thanks to the people in the company).
