I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Jul 2014
Interview
I heard about the position through a friend. Submitted my resume and heard back from the recruiter within 24 hours. We talked briefly about the position and what it entailed, then he prepared me for my first interview: a 1hr call with a manager. Manager asked basic questions about my previous work experience then went into detail about the position - technical questions and then role played a sell. I was prepared based on the advice the recruiter gave me and my previous sales experience. After, a second recruiter followed up with me to schedule an on-site interview.
The on-site interview lasted 6 hours. I interviewed with 5 different team members individually for 1 hour session with a lunch break in-between. 3 out of the 5 interviews went extremely well. The other 2 were not so strong - the people looked at their computer writing notes the whole time and seemed jaded and bored. Not a great work environment it seemed, that or some people really didnt like their jobs.
The recruiter told me I would hear back by end of the week (interviewed on wednesday). I waited two weeks then called the recruiter, who told me she needed to catch up with the team and get back to me that night. I received an email that they were moving forward with other candidates.
