They should really monitor the interview for Quality, Correctness and to see what the interviewer is doing.
I was interviewed for a Business Analyst position for which I was meeting all the checks described in that role, including some extras BUT I was solely judged on the deep programming and scripting questions that can be easily googled on stack overflow whenever needed.
As a business analyst, why am I supposed to know the 10 different ways of finding the Nth highest salary? Is it not enough if I know one using a function or whatever. Can I not google other ways when needed? For a BA what is more important -To understand why the Nth salary is required or the different ways of getting it ?
Did the interviewer forget that he is not interviewing a Data Engineer? I wasn't even asked if I am OK to write the complex codes. It was just thrown on my face after I was done introducing myself.

I am not sure if that interviewer had a fixed set of questions for every position that 'he' is interviewing or if he had no idea what a BA does.
Amazon - As an interviewee, It would really help if you assign the right interviewer who at least knows what to ask for that specific role! OR make sure you highlight all the relevant skills in the Job description to save applicant's time and efforts.
