Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe your research experiences; Describe your career plan
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Amazon (Edimburgo, Escocia) in Dec 2021
Interview
I was sent an email to schedule a phone interview after sending an online application. I accepted, provided some time slots and contacted the recruiter to know more about the kind of interview I was going to have. I received an automatic response because recruiter was out of town. Never heard from the recruiter.
The interviewer was nice, but I couldn’t really hear clearly because of their microphone. 60 minutes, half about a research project I’ve been working on, half a question about how to develop a model for an Amazon store feature. I thought I did pretty good, but received a rejection email in less than 24 hours.
2 calibration interviews (one with a technical manager, 1 with some administrative counterpart)
Final interview - five video conferences:
one hour - ML-theory
one hour - system architecture
one hour natural language process
one hour coding in python
one hour general questions, but with NLP questions
based on their STAR
