Interview
I was scheduled for a call with a Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant at Allstate NI for the Product Engineer – Workday (Hybrid) position. The interview was confirmed for 1:15 pm on the agreed date, but the recruiter never joined the call. No prior notice, apology, or follow-up was provided afterwards. Despite emailing to confirm and later escalating to senior HR leadership, I received no acknowledgment at all.
While I understand that unforeseen issues can happen, the complete lack of communication was disappointing and unprofessional—especially from a company that promotes diversity, inclusion, and respect. As a candidate with a Chinese background, the silence raised concerns about whether unconscious bias may have influenced the handling of my application.
I hope Allstate NI reviews its candidate experience processes to ensure fairness and accountability in line with its stated values.
