I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Allied Universal (Santa Ana, CA) in Nov 2016
Interview
Very simple, not a formal interview, just asking you when can you start, where would you like to work and how open is your availability. Nothing intense. Be careful, they could ask you whether you can work 16 hour shifts or not and the office wasn't so pleasant.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Allied Universal (San Diego, CA) in Jul 2018
Interview
You apply for the job online. If you have an active Security Guards Licences, you can expect an email and a call back the very next day. When you arrive to the branch office, the receptionist will give you some initial paperwork to fill out before your interview. Part of the paperwork is to see how well you can read and write. They have you write a short paragraph or two on your observations in the room that you are sitting in. Then an "Account Manager," will come and call you back into a small interview room. They will essentially evaluate to see if you will be a good fit for the account or site that they are managing. What they really want to know, is what is your "Availability?" And how soon can you start? The more open your availability, the more likely they will hire you.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do you have an Active Guard Card (Security Officers License)? What is your "Availability?" Do you have an issue with standing for long periods of time? Is working outside in inclement weather ok with you? Do you prefer to work inside a lobby sitting for long periods of time viewing security subservience cameras, or working outside on foot patrol? Do you have a good driving record or any points on your driving record in the last three years. This question is asked, probing to see if you will be a good fit as a patrol driver in a company security vehicle. They may also ask you if you have a Gun Permit? And of course this question is probing to see if they can use you as an Armed Security Officer.
