I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Airbus (Newport, Newport, Wales) in Feb 2019
Interview
After the application deadline (5th November 2018), received two emails: One for an aptitude test in the form of a mobile game and the other a questionnaire to see if you are suitable for security clearance. You are given seven days to complete the aptitude test and two working days to complete the questionnaire. The aptitude game was fairly enjoyable and takes around an hour to do. About six weeks later, I received an email invitation to the assessment centre.
The assessment was on the 5th February 2019 and was located at Newport in Wales. On the day, there were several other candidates. Roughly half of the candidates applied for the same role I did, the other half applied for a graduate cyber security role. When the assessment started, introductions were made with the people running the assessment. They were welcoming and very friendly. The assessment was split into two parts: Group exercise and informal meeting with interviewers, followed by interviews and graduate insight session. For the first part, we were split into two different groups: one was sent to do a group exercise whereas the other group remained with the interviewers, and then the roles reversed. The group exercise was not technical and was mainly to test teamwork, communication and presentation skills. In the second part, we were split into two groups again - however one group was sent to do individual interviews and the other was sent off to the graduate insight session (for which we later switched places). The interviewers were friendly and ample time was given to answer the questions. Every candidate was asked a slightly different set of questions; I was mostly given technical questions regarding OOP language properties, development life cycles and C/C++. The graduate insight session was a presentation and talk about two recent graduate employees' experiences with Airbus and the work they did. All in all, the assessment day was very enjoyable.
I received my interview response two weeks after the interview.
