The HR recruiter was friendly, communicative and properly set up the interview - she even texted me to update me of a change in the interview schedule the morning of. However, my interview was a disorganized mess. Upon arrival the meeting room reserved for my interview was occupied and I had to choose a nearby empty room, hoping my interviewers could find me. Then the four marketing associates I was to interview with switched shifts among themselves without notifying HR (or me). I had mentally prepared my talking points based on the preliminary schedule but all the swapping threw me off. I rolled with the punches but that was not cool of them. The marketing team members each prepared their own questions and most were thoughtful. The last interview was with the VP who I firmly believe had no intention of ever hiring anyone for the ACD position since she projected disinterest - spent much of our time distracted and looking at her phone. My first impression of Academy was that they are an unprofessional and disorganized bunch. Conversations with other industry pros at networking events confirmed my suspicions - the company has a long-standing reputation of being a hot mess. After my interview Academy did offer me contract work, but they would never answer my questions about the contract role - very vague about what I would be doing. I declined since I found an amazing, high paying full-time position elsewhere. Almost a year later, they still have not filled the ACD role. What a waste of everyone's time.
