I received an Email asking me to confirm interest in the role. I was offered a time and date for interview. The interview was fairly simple, asking basic competency questions. A few slightly more specialist questions were thrown in, directly relating to the field. As long as you have a basic understanding of scientific principles, and pay attention to the questions and whats being asked (for example knowing the difference between a negative and positive control and implications of each), then it is an easy interview.
They wanted me to start as soon as possible, which meant I needed to think it over very rapidly, as they wanted an answer quickly. I rejected it, due to being low pay and night shifts. Upon reflection, I reconsidered and factored in the shift allowance, thus chasnging my mind. Alas they were no longer interested, as I had listed my fears in working there, so I can understand why they were no longer interested.
I applied for several other roles, to which I was actually better suited and more interested, however they have since ignored every application for every role since then, despite clearly wanting me to begin with. I attempted to contact HR, in an effort to improve chances at some of the roles I was better suited to, however their HR has also failed to reply, or even acknowledge emails.
I understand their hesistance fully, however their reluctance to consider me for other roles is disappointing. And the failure of HR to respond to Emails is a much larger failure on their part.
