Recently I went for an EA role and got positive feedback from the first stage. In the chemistry chat with the exec, I was asked about my long-term goals. I said I love being an EA but would like to grow into a Chief of Staff or operational lead role over time. I was later told they went with someone else as I seemed “too ambitious” and might get bored. It feels ridiculous to be not hired for wanting to grow within a company, to me that’s a green flag, not a red flag. Has this happened to anyone?

Does anyone have any info on salary, bonuses, insurance, etc. or changes good and bad on Hogan Lovells (preferably for Legal Assistants) now that they have merged with another firm?

I wanna talk to them about what it’s like there before I accept a position. I feel like the base salary they offer is quite low, but my recruiter keeps going on and on about the built-in overtime and how people often end up making double their salary because of this. I need to learn more about this before I accept an offer and make a mistake. Anyone have any insight?
