Employees have high standards and even higher appetites for benefits and it's your job as an employer to keep them happy. After all, when people spend more time at your company every day than they do with their own families, they deserve to be taken care of. Benefits matter more than salary  According to Aflac's 2014 Workforce Report, 57% of workers are likely to accept a lower salary for better benefits, meaning you can put more money into your benefits packages than salary offerings, but make sure you know how your benefits stack up against the competition. Gauge your benefits package on Glasssdoor Benefit packages have become the key attribute for companies to highlight and sell to candidates. Because benefits are so important to job seekers today, we just launched our new benefits feature, helping job seekers find the jobs and companies they love. After all, 80% of job seekers say benefits packages influence their willingness to refer a friend to a specific job or company. When employers update their benefits content on Glassdoor, it is likely that they will see an influx of top talent applying for jobs. As we have noted, job seekers crave transparency; providing benefits information on Glassdoor feeds that craving. Differentiate your benefits on Glassdoor  The benefits feature on Glassdoor also helps employers differentiate themselves from other organizations based on employee satisfaction and benefits offered. Larger companies spend millions on benefit packages; smaller companies don’t always have the budget. So, exactly how do smaller companies compete with giant corporations? The answer is simple: offer more unique, cost-effective benefits, which you can display on Glassdoor. Key features of benefits Within the benefits feature on Glassdoor, employers are now able to visit their enhanced profiles to add a brief description about their benefits packages. They can also add photos or videos to promote them. Employers must get involved – not only because employers should be continually responding to reviews and updating their profile, but also because employers are able to engage in the conversation and talk benefits. Speaking of reviews, the benefits feature is yet another chance for employers to respond to those who leave reviews. Comments and responses can (and should!) be added to benefits reviews as a means to address incorrect information. Employers can also thank employees that take the time to share their experience. You have homework So, what should you do now? Make sure you have a Free Employer Account so that you can check out the new benefits feature and see what employees are saying about the benefits at your company.
