Though there was nothing but respect from management and even those officials at the corporate level, pay is minimum wage for a sales associate. Because the company is doing so well and works hard to provide exceptional customer service, I found it surprising that pay did not reflect these efforts. Because the stores are small boutiques there is also not opportunity to work much more than 15-20 hours per week, and the manager and assistant manager are the only employees who get a full 40 hours. Promotion from within does happen, but this is mostly for those who are already management. Raises are only an option after a full year of work.
In the end this was a good college and seasonal part time job. Fantastic, even. But the pay does not justify the superior efforts made by all staff.
