Pros

You can start getting work experience at 16 which is cool. Most places require you to be at least 18 nowadays. (which sucks for high schoolers)

Cons

1. No matter how long you work for the company, you are constantly treated like a newbie, which is very frustrating. 2. Getting time off/coverage for a shift is very difficult/impossible. 3. When management doesn't like you and has no actual reason to fire you, they try to push you out(getting you to quit) by scheduling you as little as possible, and nitpicking everything you do to an almost ridiculous/rude level. 4. The probability of getting promoted and moving up in the company is very very limited. Once you reach a certain position, your kind of stuck there for the most part. 5. They promote the last people you'd ever choose to promote. You're constantly being bossed around by people with absolutely no leadership skills whatsoever, and who have less experience in comparison to anyone else they could choose. They usually get promoted because they had the pleasure of meeting the higher up's, and "impressed" them with their "skills" for like an hour, suddenly becoming promotion material. They are passing up much more experienced/hardworking/and loyal employees, for the actual newbies who have no desire to better themselves or the company. 6. Theres a step by step like script you have to follow. Which seems like no big deal. But they make it a HUGE DEAL. It leaves no room for authenticity and makes it hard to actually connect to people. 7. This company is very cheap. Raises are a joke. For months, and months, and months of hard work the payout is absolutely ludicrous. 8. The work environment is very stiff, uptight, and stressful. (when theres literally nothing to be stressed about, which makes no sense, but trust me its true)

Pros

Depending on location it can be full time, bonuses, visual freedom, discounts of 50% off like twice a year. If not BTL you get 30% off.

Cons

They will expect you to run the store, employees, visually do everything, basically be the brains behind it but will not pay you for any of it. I am the highest paying ABTL in my district and I am over worked, I go in every shift with 110% and walk out feeling so used and barely have energy to just drive home. You are working as if you are commissioned based and expected to know the guest inside and out to build a better clientele for the company but try doing it for 9hrs straight with only a 30min break and as you are on the floor you have to make sure yourself, one or two others on the shift are doing the exact same or else you need to give 'in the moment feedback' on how they are not asking the right questions or do not have the guest name right away or making the guest in the fitting room 'come out ' and show us the outfit. I am telling you this company will suck you completely dry and anytime a promotion comes along they will hire from outside before internal promoting. I've been told multiple times how my leadership skills are phenomenal, I work great with all managers and staff members, visuals are always beyond expectations so why am I not promoted? Because my position is to hard to fill at a trier 1 elevated store.. I've had 4 Boutique manager position open up (yes the turn over is big) and all because we are close to holiday they can not afford to have my position open. So please look into they company before applying specially for a manager position, I would only recommend this company for seasonal hires or someone who is looking to build retail experience as a key holder.

Pros

It's sad that this company is so greedy and abusive to it's employees because almost all the employees enjoy the customers and fashion

Cons

- This company's GREED is APPALLING - Extremely low wages. Lowest available in the retail industry. - No time and a half for employees working on HOLIDAYS - Horrible insurance. High premiums and deductibles for very minimal coverage. The LOWEST deductible is $1500 yearly & once you pay that you only get 80% coverage. - Zero work life balance. They will work you until the last drop of life has been squeezed from you. Because of the disgustingly low pay, turnover with this company is rampant. - Because of said turnover, the company is constantly forcing employees to travel to other stores with NO additional compensation. If you travel an extra 2 hours to cover another store, you get NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING. - Once the company realized the federal salary law was not changing, they tacked on an additional mandatory 2 hours per week to already exhausted salaried managers. They are after all the free labor they can get - Moral is low amongst all the districts. Managers feel betrayed and taken advantage of, which they are. - Paid time off is laughable. 10 days for EVERYTHING (sick/vacation/holiday) - Mandatory SIX (6!) day work weeks for salaried store managers all holiday season - Strict scheduling policies prevent store managers from having even ONE weekend off without taking a paid day off. - District Managers must do a second interview for EVERY employee. You cannot hire a sales associate without the DM interviewing them. Because DM's are also busy and over worked, it can take over a week to get a time scheduled. A lot of great candidates move on to other retailers simply because they're able to instantly offer a position. - They are nickel and diming employees left and right to recover monies spent on new software. - Store goals have been doubled to ensure you cannot and will not ever bonus. Even if you're up 30% to LY, you'll get nothing. - Company is in total disarray and lacks communication and organization. They constantly send last minute emails demanding staff work outside of normal business hours for tasking days after the staff has received their schedule and planned their lives around it. More often than not, store managers will get stuck working the extra hours, which I suspect is the company's goal.
