Pros
Do nothing for the rest of your life and still get paid. A great place to retire. Reasonable pay comparably within the industry. Travel around the world, especially if you work on technologies other than their top of the line DCS/SIS, for which they hire locally. A strong emphasis on safety, but that has more to do with the PR efforts of their biggest clients. A great place for sales folks.
Cons
This company is doing well on the back of selling their old (but time tested) technology stacks. While most of the other big names within the industry are focusing on emerging technologies, I did not find any mention of them within Yokogawa. A strong sales culture, often sidelines scientific and innovation spirit that needs to be nurtured actively for a technology company to sustain long term dominance in the respective market segment. Consequently, relationships are more important than your work. For a starter, its a definite kill for your career. And as people maintain "great relationships" within their own circles, there is little scope for career progression as people often work here until their retirements.
