Inside Sales @ Varonis Review
Pros
They offer a decent training program when you first start off.
Cons
Frankly, there is no doubt that inside sales at Varonis is a toxic work environment with terrible management. The managers make it obvious that they will not lead by example, they don't even try to be mentors, and they are constantly breathing down your neck by having you report throughout the day and always find new ways to micromanage. TDRs are given very little responsibility and are really just there to do outreach to put up the numbers even though the expectations are vastly unrealistic. This job feels closer to telemarketing than true business development, and a TDR rarely is given positive feedback. The commission plan is tricky to say the least, and management observes metrics unobtrusively and use telemarketing terms such as "Dial count" and "PDT" (Prime Dialing Time). All performance reviews start with a brief corporate banter/small talk conversations and then its right into "lets look at your numbers". Sure, they were given the "Great place to work" badge, but don't get it twisted. It is quite the opposite for any TDR or even a commercial rep which is supposed to be a "promotion". This role/company is a perfect example of a "cog in the machine" and "just a number". I wish I had better things to say, but this is the way it is. The turnover rate speaks for itself, people are constantly quitting, getting fired, and getting interviewed. If you are still seeking BDR opportunities in data/cybersecurity, I would HIGHLY suggest you look elsewhere. If you have already started in this role, I'd say that even if you are able to hit your numbers, it won't be enough and best of luck to you and everyone who is at the entry level of inside sales at Varonis.
