Good from far, far from good

Pros

Looks like a good opportunity on paper. Nice building, free food, nice facilities overall.

Cons

The senior management team is the most dysfunctional I've seen yet. Constant gossip and in-fighting among the VPs. It's a toxic environment. CEO has no clue what's going on within the company. He seems to have good external focus, but poor internal leadership. And current COO doesn't unify the executive team.

Pros

- Great reputation - Great products - Great customer and customer satisfaction - Some small pockets of great co-workers and leaders

Cons

- Recent employee survey showed overall confidence and trust in management to be low... and no changes of 'significance' have been made. - Employees feel the talk about career paths is lip service when sub-performers get promoted - Most 'Directors' and 'Senior Directors' are just "managers" who are resting and vesting. Need real leaders in those roles. - Playing around with yearly review and salary cycles to prevent paying out salaries. Went from Dec '09 to June'10- so 18 months even though the company grew and posted record profits. - Regardless of promotions, no salary or equity increases. - Senior directors/execs who are incompetent and commit fire-able actions (ie. get drunk at the Christmas party) still remain and are rewarded instead of reprimanded.

Pros

The only thing good about this place are the benefits.

Cons

Hearing about all these layoffs makes me really sad for people, but I think they should consider it a blessing. I'm so much happier since I left 2 years ago. My mental health has greatly improved! Cons: - Extreme Micromanagement by the C level senior staff. I had the unfortunate experience of working closely with a C-Level Executive. I was constantly belittled and put down. My boss was a former navy seal so they had a particular mindset, their way or no way. It was extremely toxic and cannot believe I let someone speak to me like that in this day and age. - They expect you to work past clocked hours. Also, there were constant unexpected/unscheduled calls to my personal cell phone. Just because I didn't have small children, should NOT give you the permission to call me at 9:00 at night. It was a truly unpleasant experience and the worst job I ever had. I knew it was time to go after being told the following: "You're bad at your job." (Instead of providing constructive criticism.) "$30,000 doesn't get me up in the morning." - The God complex was astounding. Then they had the audacity to roll their eyes when I spoke about my experience in a meeting with HR. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I hope they see this and know who they are. :) I'm now with a company that appreciates me and my boss is wonderful. :)
