Pros

-Free snacks, food. -Occasional disorganized “ town-hall meetings”

Cons

-Where to start, let’s start with the culture decline. This review title was spot on -Management is untrained, unethical and is out for themselves. Watch your back at all costs. -HR clearly writes reviews on here. There are so many unhealthy and overworked employees. Walking through the halls of the office is similar to a ghost town -Elaborating on the ghost town, it use to be a happy town until HR completly terrified everyone with upper leadership guiding the way -No work-life balance, boundaries are no existent. -Way too many opportunities to access adults beverages and no sensitive to non-drinkers

Unity Response

It’s hard for me to reply to this review and the other reviews you wrote. I can see you are angry and seem to be in pain, which troubles me. From time to time we have employees who find themselves on a team or project that they aren’t happy about. They go to their manager or if their manager is the problem they go to the next level leader, another leader, HR or even our CEO. Unity is a very approachable culture. I’m not sure why you don’t feel you can do that but encourage you to try it. I promise you if you reach out to me or even John, you will be listened to and get an immediate response. The conversation will be confidential. Unity is filled with examples of employees sharing what’s not working as well as what is. They are engaged in making it better. If you join one of our internal Slack channels and in the round tables you would see the tremendous passion from the employees both for our customers but also for our company. Massive passion and pride. It would be great if you can reach out so we can address your situation. Elizabeth Brown--Unity Head of HR

Pros

Work can be fun and exciting. Most times, they are overwhelming.

Cons

Lack of career and salary advancement and incompetent management are great reasons to stay away from Unity. Most people also leave for those reasons. Upper management always sells exciting and impactful work as reasons to work at Unity. Unfortunately, exciting work doesn't pay rent in SF bay area. And it's difficult to be excited about your work when you are always drowned in technical debt. Oh yea, don't be surprised if you are expected to work crazy hours. No WLB. HR would probably respond to this by saying that this is not true and it's not the norm. It's a bunch of BS really.

Pros

Not everything is figured out at the company, which means that you can make your mark if you have good ideas. If you enjoy a merit-based company and do good work yourself, then it will be welcome at Unity.

Cons

While management overhead is minimal there is still an aura of politics playing out in the workplace. Comp / benefits are not the best and career growth is limited.
