One of the worst companies

Pros

None that I can think.

Cons

1. Bootlickers will get promotions, and rewarded. 2. People who have placed on PIP won't be the ones that get laid off, it will be the people who got the highest grade. 3. Work culture is pathetic. 4. Middle Management and Upper Management think they are doing all the work.

Pros

The people were the only reason I stayed.

Cons

Two words: POOR MANAGEMENT. Unity has a habit of grossly rewarding it's upper management teams for failure all the while paying way below market for the regular employees who are the ones that work hard to make the company better. Failed in your job, poor leader, technically inept....don't worry....here's a HUGE retention bonus (in cash and stock). You're upper management!!! We'll just layoff a couple thousand employees to make up the difference. What a joke this company has been for the last few years. Even the "town halls" all have scripted Q&As. The company has failed its' customers and it's employees. I would avoid.

Pros

Coming from internship to FT for 2 years now, I find that Unity coworkers are some of the best I've ever had. There is indeed a culture of being "in it together" in a way that is not competitive (IC-level and middle managers ❤️). I'm in the department previously known as "Accelerate Solutions" and I love the diversity of projects, industries, clients and tech that we get to work with!! I really feel that all opinions are heard democratically regardless of job level. A good idea is a good idea. There are also frequent events in the office and great workplace culture if you are open to it! Free lunches everyday ❤️ Annual compensation review cycles.

Cons

I used to believe in our leadership team years ago, but honestly I don't know how things could get worse right now. The C-Suite team and other directors have been making a SERIES of terrible decisions for the past couple years and this recent runtime fee announcement has honestly been the last straw for my faith in our leaders. How such tone-deaf decisions could be released with such little afterthought, tact, research nor care for our users that this whole company had been based on. The values that made me admire this company was trashed with little regard, and honestly I don't know how we can regain all the trust that was lost. If all this had happened years ago, I would never have pursued a career in Unity development and I will find it difficult to recommend now. Unity used to be my dream place to work, and I had rated it 5 stars back then, but now it has really changed. Also relatively lower pay than competitive market
