Pros

Good salary and union. Promising benefits after you become career.

Cons

Unreasonable expectations for new CCA's just starting out. Manager at MO location expected new CCA's to deliver mail within the same time frame as a full-time career CCA. Resigned 2nd day.

Pros

Good pay. Work on your own about 75% of the time. Able to pick up additional hours if you want to learn more routes. The longer you stay the better it gets (5-6 hour days/full day's pay). Most of your co-workers seem to be happy to be employed by the USPS. Union is great. Opportunity to advance as most of the workforce will be retiring in the next 3-5 years.

Cons

Crash course training. Learning how to case mail takes a lot of time, have to be a patient person. Have to know how to navigate a map. Weather conditions are bitter sweet (super hot sunshine/super cold freeze/everything in between) with no AC or major heat. In the beginning you might work 12+ hour days (paid by the hour).

Pros

40+ hours a week. Once in a while someone will bring in donuts.

Cons

No social life. Work 80/ week during xmas. Get treated like scum by management. No incentive to work harder. Causes emotional strain on family life. Did I mention management is horrible? Only had one awesome supervisor during my 5 year employment. Pay raises are non-existent. No sick leave. If u put in for annual leave, management will not approve it. Mail carriers are always understaffed. Regular carriers will always screw over the CCAs. This is not a career job. CCAs are cheap low cost slaves for Amazon. Yes you will be working 7 days a week up to 24 days in a row. The union is the worst for CCAs. Job will make you suicidal. If there is a living hell then the post office is it.
