Pros
While working at Tapestry, I had the opportunity to connect with a few genuinely good people and interact with teams from different countries, which was a valuable experience. Representing the brand in meetings and training sessions allowed me to gain exposure and build my professional network. However, the benefits were overshadowed by significant challenges. The promised flexibility was lacking, and a recent change in management, without a proper replacement, disrupted team dynamics and morale. This, coupled with an atmosphere filled with negativity and "mean girl" behaviour, further strained the work environment, making it difficult to stay motivated and engaged.
Cons
Working at Tapestry came with significant challenges that deeply impacted my experience. The lack of support and mentorship left me feeling isolated and undervalued, with no clear path for growth or development. My autonomy was stifled by persistent micromanagement from other parties, which eroded my confidence and limited my ability to contribute meaningfully. Moreover, the pervasive sense of demotivation among team members created a negative and uninspiring work environment. Most concerning was the feeling of being racially profiled and overlooked for opportunities within the head office, which not only hindered my professional advancement but also left me questioning the inclusivity and fairness of the workplace. These issues combined to create an environment where I felt powerless, unsupported, and unable to thrive.
