      A nice place to work if you have settled down, and treat work as something you need to do between 9-5.

      Pros

      Colleagues are friendly and supportive. Work hour is very consistent. Good benefit. Management cares about the opinions of the employees.

      Cons

      Work process is too bureaucratic. IT infrastructure is out-dated and ineffective. Most managers are business-alike, without the technical expertise to lead a technical group.

      TD Securities is as Canadian as they come!!

      Pros

      TD Securities offers an open door working environment where team work and risk taking is rewarded. The culture is like that of a smaller firm, offering an entrepreneurial feel.

      Cons

      A lot of management shake-ups over the past few years. TD Bank, TD Securities parent company, does not value TD Securities, and therefore does not support its growth beyond the current status quo. In other words, TD Securities will likely being doing the same level of business as it is currently doing 10 years into the future. TD Securities has no major growth plans.

      - Friendly working environment. - Opportunities to move into trading. - Working closely with the business allows one to pick up invaluable business experience.

      Cons

      - IT team was quite junior and lacked in-depth knowledge of the system as well as product knowledge. - This in turn led to constant fire-fighting and no concrete plans to build on the existing platform.
