Pros

Experience obviously I appreciate very much and great people that I worked with.

Cons

This is a horrible company all around to work for. I was employed for 5 years with them and we handled a major us airline in which we endured a lot of training out of town in the US due to a major airline merge. In which I had went for ticketing which would be considered a "promotion" where I should have been given a raise but never was. My years of experience, interest, and knowledge of the industry did not match what I was getting paid. I was given one raise in total when working there and it was after one year and it was only 20 cents which is a slap in the face. I worked day in day out for them lots of over time and was never appreciated was basically expected to stay overtime even though we already did 12 hour shifts there. Management walked in day in day out in a snit everyday never thanked us for our hard work as this airline was a very high maintenance one to deal with. Lied to employees saying there was a wage freeze. It was a lie because no company has a wage freeze for 4 years considering they bought out another company and lost half their employees due to half this nonsense. There were romances in the work place and it was all one guy sleeping with all the girls and even getting one of them pregnant. talk about drama. who does that. Finally five years went by and I decided to head to the hotel industry where I can enjoy my job and be treated with respect. People continue to leave swissport. No point in going to Human resources because they will just accuse you of going on a witch hunt or ignore you're calls and emails. Each agent is basically there for each other as you are on you're own. This company brings the worst out in you and falsely accuses you of things you never did especially in Winnipeg.

Pros

if youre willing to tolerate being treated poorly you'll have a job

Cons

- the management all sleep with each other so imagine the drama, yes - they play favorites and if you dont pander to them they target you - they won't teach you how to do things unless they like you - theres no organized on the job training youre thrown to the wolves - they play with your check. it may or may not be right so keep track of your time on your own -a lot of the management come to work inebriated

Pros

- Great coworkers - My best piece of advice would be to make sure you make a great first impression. - Lots of downtime depending on area of work - Some flexibility when it comes to managing your hours* - Lots of interesting experiences - Upward mobility if you're willing to put in the work. This will also mean you have to play office politics unfortunately.

Cons

- Horrid training culture, does seem to be slightly improving in this regard. - Management comes across as very sleazy. You have to keep pestering them about anything you need otherwise nothing gets done. - Notice the asterisk I put on the flexibility point? Well, prepare to have your hours cut randomly depending on the needs of the airline you're working for. Also shifts will randomly change from morning to evening depending on airline lol. - Ridiculous uniform policies. You'll wear the same uniform for a year and one day they'll start cracking down on you for not wearing the exact shade of blue they want or something lol. If your role requires to go to any ramp area, they'll expect you to be wearing steel toe shoes. Its very half-assed enforcement and comes across as them trying to cover their own faults.
