Pros

No pros, this company has the highest turnover, they hire 100 people every year and within a month more than half will quit because of the lack of training tools, bad management, and no compensation

Cons

-seniority means nothing working here (if you use your seniority in any case, the management will hold that against you) -you can get stuck with shifts starting from as early as 2:45 am -they promise you benefits after 2 years, BUT only if you maintain to work a minimum of 20 hours per week within the 2 years, so if you happen to drop shifts going below that requirement, you will not be qualified to apply for benefits -minimum wage -the amount of work you have to do is NOT worth it for only getting paid minimum wage -dealing with angry passengers/customers comes with any job, but having to deal with lazy and incompetent supervisors is ridiculous -supervisors have no social or people skills, they treat there employees with disrespect -union is useless, they take your dues and do nothing to help when needed -the attendance monitor is biased, and has no clue about how ESA works, she will write you up for any reason -no growth in the company -no incentives or bonuses for hard work

Pros

Staff you work with, the buzz of the place, meeting new people everyday, no two days are the same. Perfect for someone to start career in customer service

Cons

Poor pay conditions, split shifts, lack of pattern on the roster for new staff. Roster changes without notice for old staff, unsociable hours, no recognition of hard work. Management lacking knowledge and basic people skills.

Pros

The only pro that springs to mind is that I did work with some great people

Cons

Pay is a big problem, I was underpaid every time and the payroll managers weren't helpful at all. I still haven't been paid my final wage. Training is carried out at a very basic level, working in an airport isn't a place to learn 'on the job'. My training consisted mostly of some trainer bad mouthing colleagues. Attitude of management to colleagues is disgusting, some colleagues were turned away when trying to sort things out. No proper break times were given out, even on 12 hour shifts, no proper allotted times. No proper time allowance between shifts, I would often finish at 2200 and be in at 0400 the following day. Colleagues were sometimes attacked by PAX and no proper investigations were carried out, however an investigation was carried out whenever you had 'missed revenue' on an airline like Ryanair. At Swissport it is all about who you know not what you know.

Since 2015 we have changed a lot of policies and Standard Operating Procedures in regards to employee relations and the Airport Operation. We have introduced supervisory and management improvement courses which are making a great difference to the every day communication between management and employees not only at this airport but throughout the network
