Fast paced, exciting company that is changing the world

Pros

Never boring. Always tons of exciting new projects to work on. Get to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Great place for new engineers straight out of school to rapidly gain experience.

Cons

Always expected to work long hours. Its never about working for X amount of hours, its about completing your work. Constantly changing strategic direction can be difficult at times but heh that allows you to work on something new and exciting rather than just "doing the same old thing".

Fast paced, extremely innovative, highly talented co-workers, get to work on actual flight hardware, not very bureaucratic

Cons

Rapid changes in strategic direction. Many managers are inexperienced and focus more on technical leadership than managing people. Very little importance placed on organizational efficiency/effectiveness.

Pros

SpaceX is continually pushing the envelope with all kinds of new and groundbreaking projects. There is a very high percentage of incredibly intelligent and helpful people working at SpaceX which are more than happy to teach you what they know.

Cons

If you work especially long hours on a one project it is then expected that you will do that on every project.
